Monarch Education is working with a primary school in Selly Oak to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils from EYFS to KS2 within a Resource Base provision.

Role

  • Support pupils with SEN across EYFS to KS2
  • Work within a Resource Base setting
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support
  • Adapt activities to meet individual learning needs
  • Support communication, literacy, and numeracy development
  • Implement behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
  • Promote engagement and independence
  • Support transition between Resource Base and mainstream classes

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver support in line with EHCPs and individual plans
  • Assist with targeted interventions
  • Follow structured routine and support strategies
  • Work with teachers and SEN staff
  • Record and report on pupil progress
  • Support pupils throughout the school day

Requirements

  • Experience supporting SEN in an education setting is essential
  • Experience with primary-aged pupils
  • Minimum 12 weeks’ UK school experience
  • Understanding of behaviour support strategies
  • Ability to follow structured support plans
  • Minimum of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
