Monarch Education is proud to be working in partnership with a specialist school in Wolverhampton to recruit a committed and passionate SEN Teacher. This rewarding role involves teaching and supporting pupils with additional needs within a structured, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated teacher who is passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs, particularly those with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges, helping them to thrive both academically and personally.

The Role

As a SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging, and differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Support pupils with SEN, including SEMH and additional learning needs
  • Create a calm, safe, and structured classroom environment
  • Develop and implement individual education plans and EHCP targets
  • Support pupils’ emotional regulation, communication, and social development
  • Use positive behavior management and de-escalation strategies
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching where necessary
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and staff

Essential Criteria

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs
  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and differentiation
  • Effective behavior management strategies
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Available to work on a long-term basis

Desirable

  • Experience working within a specialist SEN school or alternative provision
  • Knowledge of SEMH, Autism, or complex needs
  • Understanding of EHCP processes and the SEND framework
