Monarch Education is seeking a passionate and creative Design & Technology Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Bromsgrove on a 0.4 timetable (part-time) basis to cover a maternity leave.

The Role

You will deliver high-quality Design & Technology lessons, inspiring students to develop practical skills and creative thinking across Key Stages 3 and 4.

You will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Design & Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Support students in developing practical, creative, and technical skills
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing clear feedback
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating workshop/classroom environment
  • Use a range of teaching strategies and digital tools to enhance learning
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student achievement
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver lessons in line with the National Curriculum and exam specifications
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and engagement
  • Support students’ progress through effective assessment practices
  • Participate in departmental meetings and CPD opportunities
  • Ensure health & safety standards are maintained within practical environments

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A degree in Design & Technology, Engineering, or a related subject
  • Experience teaching D&T at secondary level (including GCSE)
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities
  • Confident in using educational technology and digital resources
