Monarch Education are recruiting experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs across primary schools in Derby from September 2026.

We are working with a range of schools with increasing SEN demand and are looking for confident, reliable candidates who can provide consistent, high quality support from the start of the academic year.

About the Role

You will support pupils with Special Educational Needs on a one to one and small group basis, helping them access learning, follow routines and develop their independence.

Roles are available across a variety of settings, with both long term placements and flexible opportunities depending on your preference.

Key Responsibilities

Provide targeted support for pupils with SEN across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
Assist with tailored learning activities and differentiated support
Support communication, engagement and behaviour
Build strong, consistent relationships with pupils
Work closely with teachers and SEN staff
Create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

Proven experience working with SEN or SEND is essential
Confidence supporting a range of needs such as ASD, ADHD or SEMH is highly desirable
Patient, calm and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to build trust and maintain consistency with pupils
Background in education, care or support settings preferred
