Monarch Education are working with a primary school in Birmingham to recruit a full-time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). This role requires an experienced HLTA who is confident leading classes and covering PPA across the school.

Important – Essential Criteria (Please Read Carefully)

Do not apply unless you meet all of the following requirements:

  • HLTA status or equivalent qualification/experience
  • Proven experience covering whole classes and delivering lessons
  • Experience covering PPA across multiple year groups
  • At least 6 months’ experience working in a UK primary school

Applications that do not meet the above criteria will not be considered.

The role:

  • Cover whole classes in the absence of the class teacher
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
  • Provide PPA cover on a scheduled basis
  • Support teaching and learning across the school
  • Manage behaviour and classroom expectations effectively
  • Adapt lessons to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND
  • Work closely with class teachers and senior leaders

  • Confident leading whole-class learning independently
  • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
  • Experience working across multiple key stages
  • Confident with behaviour management and maintaining engagement
  • Flexible and reliable, with the ability to adapt to different classes
  • Professional and consistent in approach
