SEND Teaching Assistant

Monarch Education is seeking caring, patient, and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join welcoming and supportive schools across Northampton.

In this rewarding role, you will work alongside teachers and SEND professionals to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).

You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, help implement individual learning plans, encourage positive behaviour, and assist pupils in developing both academically and socially. Your role will be vital in helping children access learning, build confidence, and achieve success in the classroom.

We are looking for individuals with excellent communication skills, a calm and nurturing approach, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs. Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals in schools, care settings, nurseries, support work, healthcare, or community environments is highly desirable.

The Ideal Candidate Will Be:

  • Passionate about supporting children with SEND
  • Patient, caring, and resilient
  • Confident supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or additional learning needs (desirable)
  • Skilled at encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Flexible, reliable, and committed to making a difference
  • Able to follow individual support plans and school policies effectively
