Monarch Education are recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support primary schools across Belper from September 2026.

What you’ll need

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN or SEND
  • A positive, patient and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Right to work in the UK

Experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, communication needs or learning difficulties would be highly beneficial.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide valuable support to pupils who require additional assistance to access learning and thrive within the classroom environment.

You may support pupils on a one-to-one basis, work with small intervention groups or provide classroom-based assistance alongside the class teacher. Schools are seeking individuals who can provide consistency, encouragement and a calm, supportive presence throughout the school day.

This role would be well suited to candidates with experience in education, childcare, youth work, residential care, support work or similar settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with additional needs in the classroom
  • Deliver one-to-one and small group support
  • Assist with learning activities and intervention sessions
  • Promote confidence, independence and social development
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning
  • Work closely with teachers and SEN staff
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
