Monarch Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant secondary school in B32, Birmingham, on a part-time basis from September 2026, working Wednesday to Friday. This is an ongoing role suitable for individuals passionate about supporting young learners and making a positive impact within a school environment.

We are looking for a motivated individual to assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons, supporting students’ academic and social development, and maintaining a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong communication skills, patience, resilience, and a proactive attitude.

The ideal candidate will be adaptable, caring, and capable of building positive relationships with pupils and staff alike. Previous experience working with teenagers or in a school setting is desirable but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

Support classroom activities and assist with lesson delivery under the guidance of the teacher

Promote positive behaviour and support students’ social and emotional development

Help create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment

Support individual and group learning activities

Assist with classroom organisation and resource preparation

Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour issues to staff

Candidate Requirements:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude

Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Passion for supporting students’ learning and wellbeing

Previous experience in a school or childcare setting is an advantage but not essential

This part-time role runs from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Wednesday to Friday, providing a flexible yet rewarding opportunity to develop your career in education. Prior experience is beneficial but not mandatory, as ongoing training will be provided.
