We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Hartcliffe. This rewarding role involves providing individual support to a pupil with SEMH needs, helping them to engage positively with learning, build confidence, and develop essential social and emotional skills.

The Role
As a 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with SEMH needs.
- Build strong, trusting relationships to support emotional wellbeing and engagement.
- Help pupils develop positive coping strategies and emotional regulation skills.
- Support learning within the classroom and during wider school activities.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, pastoral team, and external professionals.
- Implement personalised support plans and targeted interventions.
- Promote positive behaviour through consistency, encouragement, and relationship-based approaches.
- Encourage confidence, resilience, and independence.
- Create a safe and supportive environment where pupils can thrive.

- Have experience supporting children with SEMH, behavioural, or additional learning needs.
- Are calm, patient, and resilient.
- Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Can support pupils who may struggle with emotional regulation or engagement in learning.
- Are passionate about inclusion and improving outcomes for young people.
- Can work effectively as part of a wider support team.
- Bring a positive, proactive, and nurturing approach to their work.
