The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with additional learning needs within the classroom environment.
- Deliver targeted interventions and tailored learning support.
- Work closely with class teachers, SENDCo, and external professionals.
- Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours.
- Support children’s academic, social, and emotional development.
- Encourage positive engagement in learning activities.
- Assist with the implementation of individual support plans.
- Promote an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
- Build strong and positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
What We’re Looking For

- Have experience working with children with SEND in schools, youth work, care, or similar settings.
- Are patient, resilient, and nurturing in their approach.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Can support children with a range of learning, social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
- Are committed to inclusion and helping pupils achieve their potential.
- Work well as part of a team while also using their own initiative.
- Have a positive and proactive attitude.
