The Role

As a Primary SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with SEND both within the classroom and during wider school activities.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and personalised learning support.
  • Work closely with class teachers, the SENDCo, and external professionals.
  • Help pupils access the curriculum and achieve their individual learning goals.
  • Support social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Encourage confidence, independence, and positive engagement in learning.
  • Promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, families, and staff.

What We’re Looking For

  • Have experience supporting children with SEND in schools or similar settings.
  • Are patient, nurturing, and resilient.
  • Have strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Can support pupils with a range of learning, social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Are passionate about inclusion and helping children succeed.
  • Can work effectively as part of a team.
  • Have a positive and proactive attitude.
