Carpentry Lecturer – B9 – September 2026 Start

Applications without the required Carpentry qualification (Level 3) and teaching qualification, alongside UK-based teaching experience (evidenced on your CV), will not be considered.

We are currently recruiting for a skilled and enthusiastic Carpentry Lecturer to join a well-established college campus in B9. This is a 12-week temporary assignment starting on 01/09/2026, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to a successful Construction department and support learners progressing into the carpentry and construction industry.

Qualification Required:
Must hold a Level 3 Carpentry qualification and a recognised teaching qualification

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A recognised teaching qualification and the ability to deliver Carpentry and Joinery programmes
  • A Level 3 qualification in Carpentry or relevant subject specialism
  • Strong industry knowledge across site carpentry, bench joinery, construction methods and current industry standards
  • Experience delivering both practical workshop-based and classroom-based learning
  • The ability to engage, motivate and support learners to achieve their qualifications and career goals
  • Excellent classroom management skills and workshop health and safety awareness
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, industry-relevant Carpentry lessons and practical workshop sessions
  • Ensure all practical activities are completed safely and in line with awarding body requirements and health and safety legislation
  • Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate learner records
  • Support learners of varying abilities and provide additional guidance where required
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive and professional learning environment
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, learner welfare and professional practice
