SEND Teaching Assistant Required – Primary School in Kings Heath

Monarch Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Kings Heath. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and helping them achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will work closely with pupils across the primary age range, providing tailored support to children with a variety of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND.
  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and personalised learning strategies.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, teachers, and external professionals.
  • Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and independence skills.
  • Ensure the safety and welfare of all pupils at all times.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience working with children with SEND in a school, nursery, or care setting.
  • A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • The ability to adapt to the individual needs of pupils.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE, Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, or equivalent are desirable but not essential.
