Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant (SEND)
Daily Rate: £95 – £135 per day (depending on experience)
Location: Staffordshire
Contract: Long-term, full-time
Working Pattern: 5 days per week
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant (SEND) to support a small group of Key Stage 2 pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a specialist educational setting.
This is a long-term, full-time position offering the opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives and educational outcomes of young people who require additional support to engage positively with learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide classroom and intervention support to a group of KS2 pupils with SEMH needs.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to support their emotional wellbeing and engagement.
- Work closely with the class teacher and wider SEND team to deliver personalised learning and behaviour support strategies.
- Promote a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Support pupils in developing social skills, emotional regulation and positive learning behaviours.
Requirements
- Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
- Strong behaviour management skills are essential.
- Ability to remain calm, patient and consistent when managing challenging behaviours.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
