About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a dedicated, resilient and passionate QTS-qualified SEND Teacher to join a specialist educational setting supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Working full-time with a Key Stage 2 cohort, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual learning, emotional and behavioural needs of pupils. You will play a pivotal role in creating a safe, nurturing and structured learning environment where pupils can thrive both academically and personally.

This long-term position is ideal for a teacher who is committed to making a lasting difference to the lives of children with additional needs and who possesses strong behaviour management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons for KS2 pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Differentiate learning to meet individual EHCP targets and learning needs.
  • Establish positive relationships that support pupil engagement and emotional development.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a calm and productive learning environment.
  • Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SEND professionals and senior leaders.
  • Foster a nurturing classroom culture that promotes confidence, resilience and achievement.
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional and personal development alongside academic progress.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching within a primary setting, ideally KS1/2.
  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with challenging and vulnerable learners.
  • A patient, resilient and adaptable approach.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
