Specialist Teaching Assistant – Physical Disabilities

Monarch Education are recruiting for a Specialist Teaching Assistant to support pupils with physical disabilities within a specialist school setting in Chesterfield.
This rewarding long-term role involves working closely with students who may require additional support with mobility, personal care, communication, and accessing learning activities throughout the school day. You will work alongside teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure pupils can fully engage in education and achieve their individual goals.
The successful candidate will be patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs. Previous experience within SEN, care, support work, healthcare, or education settings would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with physical disabilities
- Supporting access to learning and classroom activities
- Assisting with mobility and personal care where required
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and social development
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff and multidisciplinary teams
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
