Monarch Education are recruiting a Primary Teaching Assistant for a friendly and supportive primary school in Chesterfield from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a welcoming school where staff work collaboratively to create a positive learning environment and ensure every pupil is supported to achieve their potential. The school is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who can provide valuable classroom support and become a key member of the team.

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pupils, supporting learning, encouraging engagement and helping children develop both academically and socially.

About the Role

You will provide classroom support across the primary age range, working with individual pupils, small groups and whole classes to help facilitate learning and maintain a positive learning environment.

The school is looking for someone who is proactive, engaging and passionate about supporting children’s development, with the ability to build strong relationships with both pupils and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils with classroom learning and daily activities
• Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions where required
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning
• Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
• Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
• Work collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare or educational setting
• A positive, patient and proactive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Nursery Practitioner, Learning Support Assistant, Sports Coach, Youth Worker or similar child-focused role would be advantageous
