Are you a dedicated EAL Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a Bolton secondary school?
Monarch Education is recruiting a caring and enthusiastic EAL Teaching Assistant to support students in a welcoming secondary school in Bolton. You’ll work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to help students who speak English as an Additional Language develop their communication skills, access the curriculum confidently, and thrive both academically and socially.

You’ll play a key role in supporting pupils’ language development, promoting inclusion, and helping learners overcome barriers to education in a supportive and nurturing environment.

The Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils who speak English as an Additional Language (EAL)
  • Support students in developing their English speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills
  • Work closely with teachers to help pupils access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals
  • Adapt resources and classroom activities to meet the individual needs of EAL learners
  • Promote inclusion and help students build confidence both academically and socially
  • Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress, working collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff to support achievement

Essential Requirements
* Experience supporting pupils with SEND, e.g. autism, SEMH, physical or sensory needs
* Relevant training (e.g. Team Teach, Makaton, ASD awareness) desirable
* Patience, resilience and a calm, nurturing approach
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
* Right to work in the UK
