We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Religious Education (RE) Teacher to join a well-established secondary school in B14. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students through the study of religion, ethics, philosophy, and contemporary issues, while promoting understanding, respect, and critical thinking.

Working Days: Week A and B Timetable
Qualification Required: Must hold a degree in Religious Education, Theology, Philosophy, Religious Studies, or a related subject, together with a recognised teaching qualification.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
• A degree in Religious Education, Theology, Philosophy, or a related field.
• Strong subject knowledge across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Experience delivering engaging and thought-provoking RE lessons.
• The ability to encourage respectful discussion and critical thinking around a range of religious, ethical, and philosophical topics.
• Experience supporting students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
• Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to inclusive education.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality RE lessons that meet curriculum requirements and support student achievement.
• Teach a range of topics including world religions, ethics, philosophy, morality, and contemporary social issues.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes mutual respect and understanding.
• Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing regular feedback to support improvement.
• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and EAL students.
• Prepare students for internal assessments and GCSE Religious Studies examinations where applicable.
• Promote discussion, debate, and independent thinking while encouraging students to consider diverse viewpoints.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, behaviour, and academic progress.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, pastoral teams, and parents to support student development.
• Uphold high standards of safeguarding, student welfare, and professional practice.
