Hours: 8:15am – 3:15pm, Monday to Friday

Monarch Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Filton, Bristol. This is a full-time, long-term position supporting pupils with low levels of learning and additional educational needs, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide targeted support to students who require additional assistance with their learning. Working closely with teachers and the SEND department, you will help create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students can develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
This role is ideal for someone who is patient, nurturing, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with low attainment levels and additional learning needs in and out of the classroom
- Deliver tailored interventions to support literacy, numeracy, and general learning development
- Encourage student engagement, confidence, and independence
- Assist with classroom activities and adapt learning materials where required
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff, and parents/carers to support student progress
- Promote positive behaviour and create a safe and supportive learning environment
- Monitor and report on student progress and wellbeing
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school setting
- Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH, or additional learning needs is desirable
- A patient, resilient, and proactive attitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their goals
- A valid DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
