Monarch Education are working closely with a welcoming Primary School in Kings Heath, Birmingham who are looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to support a KS1 pupil with additional needs on a full-time basis.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a caring, patient and resilient individual who is passionate about making a real difference to a child’s educational journey.

The Role:

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a child in Key Stage 1
  • Supporting a pupil with Autism (ASC) and communication needs
  • Building a strong, trusting relationship to help the child feel safe, engaged and ready to learn
  • Using tailored strategies to support learning, communication and emotional regulation
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and social development

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, SEN TA, Learning Support Assistant or Support Worker
  • Experience supporting children with Autism, non-verbal communication needs, or other additional needs
  • Strong relationship-building skills and a nurturing approach
  • Patient, empathetic and adaptable
  • Ability to remain calm and positive when supporting children who may require additional reassurance
  • Passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning
