Monarch Education is currently recruiting for an experienced Cover Supervisor to join a successful and well-respected secondary school in Birmingham. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for a confident classroom practitioner who can hit the ground running and make an immediate impact.
The successful candidate will be confident managing classrooms independently, maintaining high standards of behaviour, and ensuring students remain engaged with their learning.
The Role
- As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for:
- Supervising classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff
- Delivering pre-planned lessons and ensuring students remain on task
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Supporting pupils with their learning and encouraging positive engagement
- Reporting back to teaching staff on pupil progress and behaviour
- Contributing to a positive and productive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
- We are looking for candidates who:
- Hold a minimum of Degree level qualification or higher-level teaching assistant qualification.
- Proven experience as a Cover Supervisor or similar role in a secondary school setting
- Adaptable to work across different curriculum areas including different subjects
- Right to work in the UK.
- Hold an enhanced child workforce DBS check on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
- Have up-to-date safeguarding training; Monarch Education offer FREE online Safeguarding training
- Provide a full 10-year career history and references to cover the last 2 years including current and previous employers.
