Monarch Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a welcoming primary school in Derby.

The school is looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who can support pupils across the primary age range and become a valued member of the classroom team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive school environment while helping children develop confidence, independence and a positive attitude to learning.

About the Role

You will work alongside teachers and support staff to help pupils access learning and remain engaged throughout the school day.

The successful candidate will support classroom activities, work with pupils individually and in small groups, and contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils with classroom learning and daily activities
• Deliver one-to-one and small group support where required
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning
• Support pupils’ social, emotional and academic development
• Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
• Work collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare or educational setting
• A positive, patient and proactive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Nursery Practitioner, Learning Support Assistant, Sports Coach, Youth Worker or similar child-focused role would be advantageous
