Monarch Education is currently recruiting experienced and passionate Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work across a cluster of secondary schools in Selly Oak and the surrounding areas of South Birmingham.

These are temporary positions with both full-time and long-term opportunities available, making them ideal for individuals looking to gain valuable experience, secure consistent work, or transition into a longer-term role within education.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students both inside and outside the classroom, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with additional learning needs.
  • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Supporting students with SEND, SEMH, behavioural, or academic needs.
  • Encouraging student participation and promoting positive learning behaviours.
  • Building positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Contributing to a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Mentor, Youth Worker, or in a similar educational support role.
  • Have experience supporting secondary-aged students.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Are patient, adaptable, and committed to supporting young people’s development.
  • Have a genuine passion for education and making a positive difference.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.

Salary: £12.16- £16.96 per hour (Dependent on experience)
