SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) – KS1

Kings Heath, Birmingham | Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity

Monarch Education is seeking a caring, patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil on a 1:1 basis within a KS1 classroom at a welcoming primary school in Kings Heath.

This rewarding role is ideal for someone with experience supporting children with additional needs who is passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

The Role

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a child in Key Stage 1
  • Supporting the pupil’s academic, social and emotional development
  • Implementing strategies recommended by the SENCO and external professionals
  • Encouraging engagement, independence and confidence within the classroom
  • Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation where required
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and parents to ensure consistent support

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Previous experience in a primary school setting
  • A calm, nurturing and patient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
  • A genuine passion for supporting children to succeed
