Pay: £150-220 per day
The Role
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join a specialist SEMH secondary school in Kidderminster on a long-term ongoing basis. You will be responsible for delivering engaging Maths and Science lessons to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, helping them develop both academically and personally.
The majority of pupils are working towards Entry Level and Foundation Skills qualifications, although some students are capable of accessing GCSE-level learning. As such, lessons must be adapted to suit a wide range of abilities, learning styles and individual needs.
Working within small class groups, you will help create a positive, structured and supportive learning environment where students can build confidence, achieve success and develop essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver differentiated Maths and Science lessons.
- Support students working towards Entry Level, Functional Skills and Foundation qualifications, with some GCSE delivery where appropriate.
- Build positive relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviours.
- Promote engagement, attendance and positive outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral staff and the wider school team.
- Monitor, assess and report on student progress.
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Maths and/or Science at secondary level.
- Previous experience working within SEN, SEMH, PRU, Alternative Provision or specialist settings is desirable.
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
- A patient, resilient and empathetic approach.
- Commitment to supporting vulnerable young people to reach their potential.
