SEND Teaching Assistant (Mornings Only) | Supporting a Child with Speech & Language Delay | Inclusive Primary School in Quedgeley
Are you a caring, patient, and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding morning-only role? We are seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to provide focused, one-to-one support for a child with speech and language delay within a welcoming and inclusive primary school.

The Role
- Morning-only SEND Teaching Assistant position (8:30 – 12:00)
- Term 2 start, with potential extension into term 3
- Providing dedicated one-to-one support for a child with speech and language delay
- Using communication strategies and targeted interventions to support language development
- Encouraging engagement, confidence, and participation in learning activities
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and wider support staff
- Supporting the child’s social, emotional, and academic development
- Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
- Building strong relationships with the child to promote independence and progress
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children with SEND is desirable
- Understanding of speech and language needs and strategies to support communication
- A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents
- A proactive and flexible attitude
- Commitment to promoting inclusion and supporting every child to succeed
