Help Build Brighter Futures Through Practical Learning

Are you an experienced Construction Tutor, Instructor, Tradesperson, or Educator looking for a rewarding role where you can genuinely change young lives?

A brand-new Alternative Provision in Wolverhampton is seeking a passionate and engaging Construction Tutor to deliver practical, hands-on learning to young people who have struggled to thrive within mainstream education. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an innovative setting that focuses on developing confidence, employability, and lifelong practical skills through vocational learning.

You’ll work with small groups of learners, with a maximum of 10 students per session, allowing you to build strong relationships and make a real impact on their educational journey.

The Role

As a Construction Tutor, you will deliver engaging practical sessions designed to develop learners’ understanding of construction, trades, health and safety, and workplace expectations. Many of the young people you’ll support may have experienced barriers to learning, so the ability to motivate, inspire and build positive relationships is essential.

This role would suit someone who has worked within construction and has experience delivering training, tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or teaching learners in an educational or vocational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging construction-based lessons and practical workshops
  • Support learners who may have disengaged from traditional education
  • Develop students’ practical trade skills, confidence, and employability
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
  • Adapt learning activities to suit individual needs and abilities
  • Manage small groups of learners effectively
  • Promote health and safety at all times within practical sessions
  • Monitor learner progress and provide ongoing support and encouragement

Requirements

  • Previous experience within the construction industry
  • Experience delivering construction-related training, tutoring, coaching, or teaching sessions
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate young people who may have additional needs or barriers to learning
  • Passion for vocational education and helping learners succeed
  • Enhanced Child and Adult DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Teaching qualification desirable but not essential
  • Experience working within Alternative Provision, SEND, SEMH, or vocational education would be advantageous

Why Join Monarch Education?

  • Flexible work to suit your lifestyle
