SEMH Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a school in the Horfield area, North Bristol to support children with additional needs.

Please note, to be successful for this role, you must be able to evidence that you have supported children and/or young adults with additional needs in a UK setting (School or Education Setting)

Monarch Education is working with a primary school in Horfield, North Bristol to recruit a full-time Teaching Assistant.

This role is focused on supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and behavioural needs. The successful candidate will have experience working with SEN pupils and supporting behaviour within an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group SEN support
• Support pupils with SEMH needs and behaviour
• Implement support strategies and behaviour plans
• Assist with classroom activities as directed by the teacher
• Build professional relationships with pupils
• Maintain a structured and safe environment

Requirements

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN
• Experience must be within a UK school or education setting
• Experience supporting SEMH and behaviour needs
• Understanding of behaviour management approaches
• Ability to work full time (Monday to Friday)
