A large two form Entry primary school in Birmingham is recruiting for a Key Stage 2 Qualified Teacher. The role begins in September 2024, the school will consider both ECT & final year students. The role is teach in Key Stage 2 and experience within this age group would be advantageous although not essential. This school is graded as ‘Good’ and had outstanding feeding for management and leadership. The school strives to create a friendly, supportive working environment for staff which in turn creates a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment for their pupils.

The ideal candidate will:

  • QTS or QTLS
  • Have the ability and knowledge to teach primary school pupils
  • Be highly organised with excellent communication skills
  • Have a desire to work with, inspire and support children from all needs and backgrounds
  • Have excellent behaviour management skills
  • Understand the expectations against the Teachers Standards
  • Be willing to commute to Birmingham.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Teaching a variety of subjects to primary pupils
  • Planning lessons and activities for whole class learning and group learning
  • Supporting SEND children with their work in a class setting
  • Managing difficult behaviours and implementing the school behaviour policy
  • Safeguarding vulnerable pupils
  • Possible supervising on lunch and break times
  • Supporting and managing teaching assistants within the classroom
  • Building relationships with staff and pupils
  • Collecting evidence of pupils work to support their assessments
  • Feedback to the relevant member of staff about the pupils progress
  • To have pastoral responsibility for a group of pupils
  • Potentially lead in a subject area
  • Ensure a team approach to education with stakeholders such as parents and carers
