ASC Learning Support Assistant

Area: Bromsgrove

Salary: £12.82 – £14.88 per hour

Hours of work: 35 hours p/week, Monday – Friday (8:30am – 3:30pm)

Start date: Immediate

Monarch Education, part of Affinity Workforce, are looking for a Primary Teaching Assistant to work in an SEND school in the Bromsgrove area. The candidate will be supporting learners with ADHD, ASC and other additional needs. Experience working in a school setting is not essential, just a natural affinity with children and a willingness to learn and adapt.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience working with young people
• Be highly organised with excellent communication skills
• Have a desire to work with, inspire and support children
• Have good behaviour management skills
• Have experience supporting children with additional needs (desirable not essential)
• Have knowledge of Makaton or sign language (desirable not essential)

Main Responsibilities:

• Supporting the class teacher and other teaching assistants in the day to day running of the class
• Supporting children during lessons/school activities
• Managing difficult behaviours
• Delivering 1:1 or small group activities
• Collecting evidence of children’s work to support their assessment
