About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at a Pupil Referral Unit in Bury, working with students aged 11-16. The role will start after the Easter holidays and will run until the end of July 2025. As part of the team, you will provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them manage their behaviour and emotional needs, promoting positive outcomes, and creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored behavioural support to students with varying emotional and behavioural challenges.
  • Help students develop strategies to manage their emotions and behaviour in a school setting.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining individual behaviour plans.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to ensure that all students receive the support they need to thrive.
  • Contribute to a positive, engaging, and supportive environment for learning.
  • Encourage students to engage in educational activities and build confidence in their abilities.

About You
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational, youth work, or similar setting.
  • A strong understanding of behavioural management techniques and strategies.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students who face challenges.
  • The ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and build strong relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.
