Behaviour Support Assistant – Bury (BL9)
Monarch Education are pleased to be working with a Bury based primary school, who are in search for a behaviour Support Assistant, to work 1:1 with a Year 2 child. This is a full-time opportunity Monday to Friday 8:30am – 3:30pm, supporting said child both in their classwork and throughout the day. The successful applicant will be required to register with Monarch Education, before an immediate start but the school are willing to wait a short period of time for the right person.
The child can exhibit disruptive behaviour as a result of getting frustrated, having struggled to engage with the curriculum. The successful TA needs the skills to defuse and redirect attention accordingly. Senior leadership of this primary school strongly believe the pupil requires a calming presence to support them, keeping them on track with work while building a positive, trusting relationship with the child.
Applicants should be comfortable encouraging the child to become assimilated into the classroom environment. Experience working 1:1 with pupils is beneficial, and candidates must prove they have appropriate knowledge of safeguarding and behavioural management in a KS1/primary setting.
