School Careers Leader

About the Role:

Monarch Education is proud to be working in partnership with a school in the B28 area of Birmingham to recruit a passionate and experienced Careers Leader. This is a key leadership role within the school, ideal for someone who is committed to helping young people explore their future pathways and make informed decisions about their education, training, and employment. As the Careers Leader, you will be responsible for developing and delivering a high quality careers education, information, advice, and guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic planning and delivery of the school’s careers programme.
  • Develop partnerships with local employers, training providers, and further/higher education institutions.
  • Organise careers events, workshops, employer visits, and work experience opportunities.
  • Provide one to one and group guidance to students on career pathways.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of the careers programme and report to senior leadership.
  • Ensure the school meets statutory guidance.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of labour market trends and opportunities.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience in careers education, guidance, or a related field (school-based experience preferred).
  • Careers Guidance qualification (or willingness to work towards it).
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and external partners.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
