Monarch Education are recruiting School Cleaners to support schools across Alfreton from September 2026.
We are looking for reliable and hardworking individuals who take pride in maintaining clean, safe and welcoming environments. These roles are ideal for candidates seeking part time work within a school setting and wanting to play an important role behind the scenes in supporting pupils and staff.
As a School Cleaner, you will be responsible for ensuring designated areas of the school are cleaned to a high standard and maintained throughout the academic year.
Working as part of the wider site team, you will help create a clean and hygienic environment where pupils can learn and staff can work effectively.
Shifts typically take place before or after the school day.
Clean classrooms, offices, corridors and communal areas
Sanitise surfaces, toilets and high contact touch points
Empty bins and replenish cleaning supplies
Follow school health and safety procedures
Report maintenance or safety concerns when identified
Work efficiently and effectively as part of a team
Previous cleaning experience is preferred
Experience cleaning within a school, college or educational setting would be advantageous
Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
Reliable and punctual approach
Ability to work independently and use initiative
Good understanding of health and safety procedures
Willingness to work within a school environment
