Cover Supervisor – Taunton – Flexible, Long-Term Opportunities

Monarch Education is currently seeking a Cover Supervisor to work across a range of schools in Taunton. This role involves covering lessons in the absence of the regular class teacher, providing support and ensuring that students continue their learning in a structured and focused environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in education or seeking flexible, long-term work across a variety of schools. You will be working with students of different age groups and abilities, ensuring that they remain engaged with their lessons while maintaining a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage classes in the absence of the class teacher, following the pre-set lesson plans.
• Ensure students stay on task, working effectively and responsibly throughout the lesson.
• Provide support and guidance to students as they work through tasks, offering clarification when needed.
• Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment, reinforcing the school’s behaviour policies.
• Monitor students’ progress and report any issues or concerns to the relevant staff.
• Ensure that health and safety procedures are followed at all times during lessons and break times.
• Adapt to different school settings and teaching environments, showing flexibility and initiative.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience working with children or in a school setting.
• Have excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Be adaptable and able to cover a range of subjects and year groups as needed.
• Be confident in dealing with a variety of age groups and abilities.
• Hold a DBS check (or be willing to apply for one).
