About the Role

We are seeking a confident, adaptable and motivated Cover Supervisor to join our supportive secondary school in Weston‑super‑Mare. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and is looking to develop experience within a school setting.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes of students aged 11-16, delivering pre-prepared lesson material and ensuring a positive, productive learning environment. This role is ideal for anyone considering a career in teaching-particularly those planning to apply for a PGCE in the future.

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds, such as:

• Youth work
• Sports coaching
• Tutoring
• Mentoring
• Support work
• Other environments working with young people aged 11-16

While experience in a school is helpful, it is not essential-full training and induction will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervising classes during teacher absence and delivering set learning materials.
• Managing behaviour in line with school policies.
• Supporting students to stay on task and make progress.
• Communicating effectively with teaching staff and pastoral teams.
• Contributing positively to the wider school community.
