Monarch Education is delighted to be working in partnership with a successful secondary academy in Birmingham to recruit enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to join our supply bank from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced cover supervisors, teaching assistants, youth workers, or individuals with experience working with young people who are looking to gain valuable classroom experience within a secondary school setting.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff. You will deliver pre-set work, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure students remain engaged in their learning.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising whole classes during teacher absence
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Ensuring students complete the work set by teaching staff
- Providing support and guidance to students where appropriate
- Reporting back to teaching staff on student engagement and any issues arising during lessons
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking candidates who:
- Have experience working with children or young people
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Are confident managing groups of students
- Can remain calm, professional, and adaptable
- Have a genuine passion for supporting education
Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor is desirable but not essential, as training and support can be provided.
