Join Our Team as a Cover Supervisor
Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them succeed? We are looking for a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our dynamic secondary school team on a full-time basis.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning by delivering pre-planned lessons during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged, focused, and motivated. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals considering a future career in teaching or education.
About the Role
The successful Cover Supervisor will:
- Supervise classes during teacher absence and deliver pre-prepared lesson content.
- Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
- Support students in completing learning activities and achieving their potential.
- Organise cover arrangements and complete associated administrative tasks.
- Work closely with teaching staff to ensure continuity of learning.
- Assist with marking and preparation of learning resources where appropriate.
- Supervise examinations as required.
- Provide Teaching Assistant support when not undertaking cover duties.
- Participate in training, professional development, and school meetings.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone who has:
- Experience working with young people, ideally within a secondary school setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent behaviour management abilities.
- A positive, professional, and flexible approach.
- The ability to motivate and engage students.
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent.
- The confidence to lead a classroom independently.
