Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 + TLR £3,527

About the Role

Monarch Education are proud to be working in partnership with a forward-thinking Multi Academy Trust to recruit a Curriculum Lead for KS3 and KS4 within an alternative academic provision in BS5.

This is a unique and rewarding leadership opportunity for a passionate educator who is committed to re-engaging students with education, raising attainment, and making a lasting difference in the lives of young people who require a personalised and nurturing approach to learning.

The provision supports students who may have experienced barriers in mainstream settings. As such, pastoral care and relationship building are at the heart of this role, alongside curriculum leadership and quality of teaching.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-quality, flexible KS3 and KS4 curriculum tailored to individual student needs
  • Drive improved outcomes and engagement for students who may be disengaged or at risk of exclusion
  • Champion a strong pastoral ethos, ensuring students feel safe, supported, and valued
  • Work closely with staff to embed trauma-informed and inclusive practices
  • Monitor progress, track attainment, and implement effective intervention strategies
  • Support and develop teaching staff, promoting consistently high standards of teaching and learning
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and external agencies

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has QTS (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrates strong pastoral leadership skills and a genuine commitment to student wellbeing
  • Has experience working with students in alternative provision, SEN, PRU, or similar settings
  • Is passionate about inclusive education and personalised learning approaches
  • Has the resilience and creativity to re-engage learners and overcome barriers to learning
  • Brings strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire colleagues
  • Supports and welcomes applicants from Primary and Secondary Backgrounds
