Monarch Education is working in partnership with a secondary school in Birmingham to recruit an experienced Data and Exams Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and analytical professional with experience managing school data systems, assessment processes and examinations. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting school leaders through the effective management of student data, reporting, assessment tracking and examination administration.

As Data and Exams Manager, you will be responsible for the management and development of the school’s data and assessment systems, ensuring accurate student records and delivering timely reporting to support teaching, learning and school improvement. You will also oversee all aspects of examinations administration, ensuring compliance with examination board regulations and deadlines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and maintaining the school’s MIS and assessment systems.
  • Producing accurate assessment, attainment and progress reports.
  • Coordinating the collection, analysis and reporting of student data.
  • Managing the School Census and statutory data returns.
  • Supporting student transitions and maintaining accurate student records.
  • Developing and maintaining tracking systems for pupil progress and behaviour.
  • Producing and distributing reports to parents and senior leaders.
  • Supporting timetable administration and academic year setup.
  • Coordinating internal and external examinations.
  • Managing examination entries, results, certification and communications with awarding bodies.
  • Acting as the key point of contact for examinations-related matters across the school.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:

  • 5 GCSEs including English and Mathematics (Grade 4/C or above).
  • Experience of managing and developing school MIS systems such as Bromcom or similar.
  • Experience producing, analysing and reporting on school data.
  • Strong knowledge of assessment and data management processes.
  • Experience working within an educational setting.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of statutory school reporting requirements, including School Census returns.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A professional and confidential approach to handling sensitive information.

Desirable

  • Experience organising examinations within a school environment.
  • Knowledge of examination board regulations and procedures.
  • Relevant ICT or Business Administration qualifications.
