Monarch Education is working with a well‑established nursery school in North Birmingham to recruit a full‑time Deputy Head Teacher. This role requires a qualified teacher (QTS) with early years experience and a strong understanding of EYFS practice.

About the Role

As Deputy Head Teacher, you will support the Head Teacher with the day‑to‑day running of the nursery school and help lead a committed staff team. The role includes a mix of leadership duties and time spent working directly with children and staff across the setting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Head Teacher with the overall leadership and management of the nursery
  • Leading on areas of curriculum, safeguarding, or inclusion as required
  • Supporting teaching and learning across the nursery to ensure high‑quality practice
  • Coaching and guiding staff, including supporting professional development
  • Maintaining strong relationships with children, staff, and families
  • Assisting with planning, monitoring, and assessment in line with EYFS requirements
  • Taking responsibility for the school in the Head Teacher’s absence
