Location: Frome
Contract: Full-Time Supply (Monday-Friday)
Hours: 8:15am – 3:15pm
Salary: £154.05 – £232.8 per day (DOE)

Role Overview
We are recruiting Supply DT Teachers to support secondary schools across the Frome area. You will deliver engaging Design & Technology lessons to KS3 and KS4 students, following lesson plans provided by the department and maintaining a safe, purposeful learning environment.
This role is ideal for qualified DT teachers, ECTs, or experienced practitioners with a DT background seeking regular supply work and experience within local schools.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver DT lessons using pre-prepared planning and resources
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour in line with school policies
- Support students with practical work, design thinking, and problem-solving
- Ensure safe use of tools, equipment, and materials and follow workshop routines
- Adhere to safeguarding and health & safety procedures at all times
Skills Required
- Strong classroom and workshop management skills
- Confident, clear communication and ability to give practical demonstrations
- Ability to motivate and engage learners in design and making
- Adaptability across age groups and DT areas (e.g., Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, Food) depending on the school
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience teaching DT to secondary-aged students (KS3/KS4)
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant DT/technical qualification (desirable)
- Knowledge of safeguarding and DT workshop/food room health & safety
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
