Monarch Education is working closely with a well‑established secondary school in Walsall to appoint a dedicated and skilled Design & Technology (DT) Teacher. About the Role
We are seeking a DT Teacher with strong subject knowledge and the confidence to deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will play a key role in inspiring students, promoting creativity, and ensuring progress across a range of DT disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality DT lessons in line with the school’s curriculum and standards
- Teach across KS3 and KS4, ensuring lessons are engaging, inclusive, and well‑structured
- Plan, prepare, and assess pupils’ work, providing constructive feedback to support progress
- Maintain a safe and well‑organised workshop environment, adhering to all health and safety procedures
- Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and collaborative teaching practices
- Build positive relationships with students, promoting good behaviour and a strong learning culture
- Participate in wider school activities, meetings, and professional development opportunities
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Specialism in Design & Technology (any discipline considered: Product Design, Engineering, Resistant Materials, Graphics, Food, Textiles)
- Strong classroom management skills and an ability to engage learners of varying abilities
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of the DT curriculum, assessment methods, and safeguarding practices
- A proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic approach to teaching
