Monarch Education are working with the Local Authority to recruit several Tutors to teach a group of refugee families of mixed ages and abilities (Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3 & Key Stage 4 & Adults).

This is a unique position for someone looking to challenge themselves by having root to branch input into planning and delivering a bespoke curriculum to a group of children who have been resettled in the UK and do not speak English.

We are aiming to provide each Child with 5-6 hours tutoring each week to enable them to independently communicate effectively in day to day life and give them a the blocks to build on for when they get permanently settled elsewhere in the UK and offer Adults 8-10 hours a week of EAL tuition to enhance their employability and communication skills.

Pay: £20 – £40 per hour

Start: November

Length: Circa 6 months

Working Week: Ideally 5 x Days a week 9:00am – 4pm

Location: Beckingham nr Newark, Lincoln

The successful candidates will ideally have;

  • Experience in working with EAL
  • QTS / TESOL / CELTA
  • Ability to plan a bespoke curriculum for mixed abilities
  • Tutoring experience
  • Experience in working with Adults who have suffered trauma
  • Ability to work in a team with workers from other authorities
  • Independent working
  • Loving and caring nature towards learning
