Education Support Assistant

A CSET Secondary Academy in South Gloucestershire is seeking an Education Support Assistant (ESA) for an immediate start. The school would also consider applicants wishing to start from 2^nd September 2024. The role is 35 hours per week and is a permanent position. The salary is £26,421 FTE, £21,497 prorated.

As an ESA will be planning and delivering targeted interventions to students who need additional support including SEND. You will be working as part of a team to promote the emotional, physical and educational development of students, including those with special needs.

You will need

• A good standard of English and Maths
• Experience of working with young people with SEND
• A commitment to SEND interventions
• Understanding of what constitutes an effective intervention and how to use data to inform the intent and implementation of intervention work
• Excellent communication skills that will include dealing with parents, outside agencies and the students
• Excellent organisation skills, and written and verbal communication skills
• Training in specific evidence-based interventions related to numeracy/literacy/speech & language is desirable
