Monarch Education are working with a secondary school in Kingstanding who are looking for a full-time English Teacher to join them from September.

This is a long-term role with the potential to become permanent for the right person.

The school are looking for someone who can deliver strong, engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4. You will be teaching both English Language and Literature, supporting students with reading, writing, analysis and exam preparation.

This role would suit an English Teacher who is confident in the classroom, organised in their planning and able to build positive relationships with students.

The role will include:

  • Teaching English across KS3 and KS4
  • Delivering English Language and Literature lessons
  • Planning clear, engaging and purposeful lessons
  • Supporting students with literacy, written work and analysis
  • Preparing students for assessments and GCSE exams
  • Marking, assessing and tracking student progress
  • Managing behaviour in line with school expectations
  • Working with the English department to support student outcomes

The successful candidate will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting
  • Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 English curriculum
  • Confidence teaching both Language and Literature
  • Good classroom management skills
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
  • A reliable, professional and proactive approach
  • A commitment to supporting student progress and wellbeing
