Monarch Education are currently supporting a secondary school in the Small Heath area who are seeking to appoint a full-time English Teacher from September.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop their skills in both English Language and English Literature. What the role will involve:

  • Teaching English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4
  • Delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners
  • Supporting students in developing reading, writing and analytical skills
  • Preparing pupils for GCSE examinations and assessments
  • Monitoring, assessing and recording student progress
  • Providing constructive feedback to support attainment
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues within the English department
  • Contributing to a positive and supportive learning environment

What the school are looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting
  • Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 English curriculum
  • Confidence delivering both English Language and English Literature
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Strong organisational and planning abilities
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills
  • A professional, reliable and proactive approach
  • A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for students
