Monarch Education have recently began working with a special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Shustoke who are seeking an English Teacher with SEND Experience.

The School:

The School is a small Independent School based on a farm site, with 76 pupils from early years to post 16. There is a range of needs, with the primary need being SEMH. Children will have social, emotional and mental health needs, that are associated with Autism or other neurological conditions.

Requirements to apply:

• The ability to provide references to cover the past 2 years
• An enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to apply for one

The Ideal Candidate:

• Pro-active and keen to working with SEND pupils
• A knowledge of Makaton, Phonics, PECS communication, phonics, team teach, or Autism Awareness would be a HUGE advantage
• Empathetic to the struggles faced by pupils with special educational needs
• Able to clearly communicate with pupils, as well as teachers and support networks
• Able to adapt the curriculum where necessary with the use of toys, sensory play and music
• Fun and bubbly personality whilst maintaining a professional demeanour
