Finance Assistant

Monarch Education are recruiting on behalf of a primary school in Birmingham for a Full-Time Finance Assistant.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Finance Assistant to support the school’s finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a welcoming school environment and develop your career in education finance.

About the Role:

As a Finance Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the school’s financial operations. Your work will help ensure the smooth running of financial activities, contributing to the overall success of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

• Processing invoices, payments, and receipts
• Maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems
• Assisting with payroll and expense claims
• Reconciling bank statements and financial reports
• Supporting budget monitoring and forecasting
• Using finance software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms)
• Ensuring compliance with financial policies and safeguarding procedures
• Responding to financial queries from staff, parents, and external agencies

What We’re Looking For:

• You must be an experienced Finance Assistant
• Proven experience with finance management systems
• Strong organisational and numerical skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Previous experience in a school finance or accounts role is highly desirable
